Biography

Michael Pescolderung studied at the conservatory in Bolzano with professor Carmelo Giacometti and at the University of Music in Nuremberg with professor Hansjörg Angerer, where he completed his masterclass diploma with honours in 2004. He received further artistic inspiration from professor Johannes Hinterholzer, professor Wolfgang Wilhelmi, and Giovanni Hoffer (jazz horn).
From 2009 to 2019, he was a horn player in the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra at the Klagenfurt City Theatre and played with conductors such as Zubin Metha, Riccardo Chailly, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, John Axelrod, and Lorenzo Viotti. He is passionate about playing the natural and baroque horn in various international ensembles and orchestras. He has recorded several discs with the baroque orchestra ‘Il Pomo d’ Oro’. He has performed chamber music with the Austrian Wind Soloists (conducted by Milan Turcović), the Italian Brass Ensemble, the Ensemble Prometeo from Parma, and Windkraft Tirol. He has taught at the ‘F.A. Bonporti’ Conservatory in Trento and is a sought-after judge at various youth music competitions. His teaching activities are rounded off by masterclasses at home and abroad, including at the Schwarzwälder Horntage in Germany.
