High School | Pre-College | Fostering of Talent
The music high school is intended to provide musically talented young pupils the opportunity to attend a general higher secondary school with a school-leaving examination alongside the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg. Stella Vorarlberg currently offers this type of school in cooperation with two institutes. The prerequisites for admission are meeting the required academic performance and passing the instrumental entrance examination to the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg.
Stella Vorarlberg also offers talent promotion for particularly talented music students from Vorarlberg’s music schools in cooperation with the Musikschulwerk. In addition to extra lessons, young musicians are given an insight into extended musical training in regular workshops.
Pre-College und Music High School
The music high school is intended to provide musically gifted young pupils the opportunity to attend a general higher secondary school with a school-leaving examination alongside the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg. Stella Vorarlberg currently offers this type of school in cooperation with two institutes. Prerequisites for admission are meeting the required academic performance and passing the instrumental entrance examination to the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg.
Pre-College Plus
The Pre-College Plus of Stella is aimed at highly motivated and particularly talented young people from the age of 15 who wish to prepare professionally for music studies. Ideally, the Pre-College is completed two years before an admission examination for a music degree programme. The offer includes:
Pre-College Plus for externals (PC+ X)
Pre-College Plus for students in grades 8 and 9 of the music high school (PC+ MG)
The following instruments are offered at the Pre-College: accordion, recorder, cembalo, bassoon, vocals, guitar, harp, clarinet, piano, double bass, oboe, organ, trombone, flute, saxophone, percussion, trumpet, tuba, viola, violin, violoncello.

Feldkirch
Pupils who attend the Feldkirch Music High School complete their school education at the Feldkirch Federal Secondary School in addition to the preparatory course at Stella Vorarlberg. Registration at both institutes is required. The music high school lasts 5 years. www.gys.at

Pupils who attend the EMS Music High School in Schiers (CH) are also students of the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg. www.ems-schiers.ch
Fostering of Musical Talent
Stella Vorarlberg Private University College for Music is one of the leading centers for the fostering and promotion of musical talent in the Lake Constance region. The study area of “Taletenteförderung” includes a cooperation with the music high schools in Feldkirch and Schiers, as well as a cooperation with the Vorarlberg Music School Association for “Taletenteförderung”.
