Biography

Julia Fritz is a prizewinner of the 8th International Telemann Competition in Magdeburg and the International Competition for Solo Recorder in Feldkirch. She performs as a recorder player in Europe, Taiwan, South Korea, and the USA. Her concert activities have taken her to festivals such as the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the Boston Early Music Festival, the Innsbruck Early Music Festival, and the Arolsen Baroque Festival. In 2021, she recorded Italian early baroque music by Angelo Notari and Giovanni Battista Fontana for audite Musikproduktion in the Basilica di Santa Barbara in Mantua; the release was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award and the International Classical Music Awards.
Julia Fritz has been performing with her recorder consort, the Boreas Quartet Bremen, since 2009, and her latest recording, Basevi Codex, was honoured with the International Classical Music Awards 2022 in the Early Music category.
