Ombuds Office for Research Integrity and Good Practice in Artistic Studies, Teaching, and Research

Stella Vorarlberg Private University College of Music is a full member of the Austrian Agency for Scientific Integrity (ÖAWI) and follows its applicable guidelines for good research practice in matters of research integrity. The principles and regulations governing integrity in artistic studies, teaching, and research are set forth in the University Statutes (§28).

The Stella Ombuds Office for Good Research and Artistic Practice is part of Research Services and serves as an independent and coordinating point of contact for:

  • confidential advice on questions relating to good research and artistic practice; and
  • the handling of suspected cases of research or artistic misconduct.

It operates neutrally, confidentially, and independently. With the agreement of the parties involved in a conflict, it may act as a mediator. In substantiated and serious cases of suspected misconduct, it works closely with the ÖAWI Commission for Scientific Integrity and may make recommendations to the Rectorate and the relevant decision-makers. Alternatively, individuals affected by suspected cases of research misconduct may contact the ÖAWI Commission for Scientific Integrity directly, independently of the institution.
