Zertifikatslehrgang für Steirische Harmonika

This program is aimed at accordionists, players of the Styrian harmonica, and music school teachers who can demonstrate basic proficiency on their instrument and wish to gain a qualification in instrumental pedagogy for the Styrian harmonica. Priority is given to individuals already actively teaching at music schools.

Admission Requirement
After registration, participation in the Orientation Day is mandatory for admission to the program.
Date: June 12, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in Marktoberdorf

During the Orientation Day, applicants will present a musical performance on their instrument and receive an introduction to the program’s content, structure, and organizational framework.
Final admission to the program is granted only upon successful participation in the Orientation Day.

Duration: 4 semesters (part-time alongside employment)
Format:
– 12 online weekend sessions
– 8 in-person weekend sessions, alternating between Marktoberdorf (Germany) and Feldkirch (Austria)

Program Content
A part-time training program for Styrian harmonica, offered by Stella Vorarlberg in cooperation with the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf (Germany) and the Vocational School for Music in Krumbach (Germany).

Tuition:
Two-year program: € 2990
This includes all course fees, accommodation, and meals at the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf during four in-person weekends.
Accommodation and meals during the four on-site phases in Feldkirch are not included and must be covered by participants.

Payment in instalments possible:
€ 590 (2026) / € 1500 (2027) / € 900 (2028)

Funding Opportunities:
Financial support is available for teachers at Vorarlberg music schools through the Vorarlberger Musikschulwerk.
Members of the Austrian Chamber of Labour (Arbeiterkammer) may apply for educational grants. Additional support may be available through the local municipalities of the music schools.
