Biography

Goran Kovacevic received his first lessons from his mother Mara. He later studied at the Winterthur Conservatory and at the State University of Music in Trossingen (Germany) with Professor Hugo Noth. Masterclasses in Salzburg, Florence, Moscow, Weimar. and Toronto complemented his artistic training. Goran Kovacevic has won several international competitions such as the Coupe Mondiale and the DAAD Prize Bonn. He is an expert for accordion at the universities of Lucerne and Bern and is a regular jury member at the Coupe Suisse de l’Accordeon and Prima la musica. He has been a professor in Feldkirch since 1999 and also teaches at the cantonal school in Trogen, the cantonal school in Wattwil, and the cantonal school in Burggraben (St. Gallen). As a soloist and chamber musician in various formations, his concert tours have taken him throughout Europe, America, and Asia. Goran Kovacevic has composed theatre and film music for accordion with string quintet, brass, choir, and symphony orchestra. To date, he has released 55 CDs with works from classical, modern, Balkan folklore, (virtuoso) underground music, world music, jazz, and tango nuevo.
