Biography

The pianist Ye Ran Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She began her musical education in her home country. In 2002, she continued her studies at the Trossingen State University of Music in the Artistic Training programme as well as the Soloist Training/Concert Examination programme under Prof. Tomislav Nedelkovic-Baynov. Her outstanding final examinations prompted the examination board to award her a ‘degree with honours’ for the first time in the history of the university.
Ye Ran Kim has distinguished herself as a solo and chamber music pianist at renowned competitions. She has won prizes at the Reinhold Glière International Competition and the Grand Prix International ‘Jeunes Talents Concours et Rencontres’, among others. She has a busy concert schedule and performs as a soloist with various orchestras and as a chamber music partner of Nicholas Daniel, Karl Leister, Chen Halevi,
Rie Koyama. She is also a permanent member of the Baynov Piano Ensemble and the Amane Piano Trio. She teaches at the Trossingen State University of Music and, since 2020, at the Stella Vorarlberg as a lecturer for piano repetiteurship.
