Biography

Sophie Heinrich has been a violin teacher in Feldkirch since 2021. She started playing the violin at the age of four and has been performing ever since. Important teachers during her studies included Prof Weithaas (‘Hanns Eisler’ Berlin) and Prof Brandis (Lübeck Academy of Music), whose assistant she was until his death. She has won prizes at several international competitions. In 2008 she won the prestigious Possehl Music Prize of the City of Lübeck. In 2009, she attracted attention as the best German performer at the ARD competition in Munich. She performs as a soloist and chamber music partner at festivals in Germany and abroad. Recordings for ORF, DLF, rbb, MDR, BR, 3sat, arte, among others, bear witness to her skills.
As a teacher, she taught violin and chamber music at the Lübeck Academy of Music for seven years and was a dedicated teacher for children and young people in Chile. In 2012, she was engaged as first concertmaster of the ‘Komische Oper Berlin’. She has also performed regularly as concertmaster in orchestras such as the BR Symphonieorchester, Bavarian State Opera, Dresdner Staatskapelle etc. She has been the permanent concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra since June 2019.
