Biography
Studied jazz and popular music at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, majoring in double bass from 1993-1997.
Lessons and workshops with Thomas Stabenow, Thomas Heidepriem, David Friesen, Ratzo Harris, Kenny Werner, Glen Moore, Ralph Towner, Kenny Wheeler.
Multi-instrumentalist with the Anne Wylie Band from 1993-2008, extensive tours throughout Europe.
Since 2008 he has focused on his own projects, writing and the double bass.
Plays and has played with Helge Andreas Norbakken, Winnie Brückner, Thor Harald Johnsen, David Soyza, Josquin Rosset, Carlo Lorenzi, Herbert Walser, Amik Guerra, Flip Philipp, Andreas Krennerich, Mehrzad Azamikian, Imamyar Hasanov, Jürgen Treyz, Riccardo Delfino, Anne Wylie in projects and bands, the Brandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Pops Orchestra and the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra as a soloist.
He can currently be heard with VIND (feat. Winnie Brückner), Florian King Trio (feat. David Soyza, Christian Krischkowski), TRIMOLON (feat. Stefan Frommelt, Marvin Studer), Trio Mani Nude (feat. Josquin Rosset, Carlo Lorenzi). With the baroque ensemble Concerto Stella Matutina 2019 winner of the Opus Klassik (formerly Echo) award in the category classical music without borders as soloist and composer. 2020 nominee of the Klangspektrum Baden- Württemberg.
Lecturer at numerous workshops, including with the PAK- BW. Teaches at the Jazzseminar Dornbirn (AT) since 2006, with a focus on band coaching, jazz theory, arranging and composing and bass. 2015- 2023 Director of the jazz seminar. Since 2022 lecturer at Stella Vorarlberg, private college for music, Feldkirch.
