Biography

  • Born in Chicago, grew up in Bogotá (Colombia)
  • Studied at the University of Music in Vienna in the class of Prof. Barbara Gisler. Concert and IGP Diploma with distinction. Recognition Award from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education and Sport. Postgraduate studies at the State University of Music Stuttgart with J. C. Gerard and Soloist Diploma at the Zurich Conservatory with Philippe Racine. Master classes with Aurele Nicolet, Susan Milan, Robert Aitken, P. L. Graf, Carin Levine.
  • Various prizes at international flute competitions in Europe and the US.
  • Since 1985 intensive soloist activity with numerous recitals in Colombia. 2013, performance as a soloist under the direction of Andrés Orozco and the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.
  • Numerous masterclasses at music universities and conservatories and co-founder of the International Flute Academy in Villa de Leyva with annual masterclasses.
  • Co-founder and director of Ensemble Continuo in 2016. Founding member of the wind quintet Miroir, numerous concerts in Austria, Italy, Germany, South America, and Japan.
  • Currently principal flute of the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra Constance and, since 2004, head of a flute class at Stella Vorarlberg.
