Further Education

Stella Vorarlberg offers various further education formats for different target groups. The focus is on musicians, music educators and people with previous musical experience who, depending on their previous knowledge, want to acquire additional musical or music education qualifications. The courses are geared towards current market needs and social trends related to music in the broader sense.

Elementary music pedagogy course (EMP)

BLICK.punkt elementary music education

As part of the BLICK.punkt workshop series, aspects of elementary music-making are presented that can be implemented in lessons with children in music schools, schools or kindergartens. The training courses are also suitable for people who would like to enrich their everyday musical life in pedagogical professions with elementary music building blocks. Based on elementary music-making, practical approaches in various facets are discovered and tried out.

BLICK.punkt 2024 workshops

Music right from the start

On this BLICK.Punkt weekend, the very youngest children are the focus of elementary music-making. How do I bridge the gap from baby to toddler to children’s group? How do I involve parents as equal participants? What content is suitable for young AND old?

Two speakers offer insights into their everyday work with child & parent groups and open their suitcases full of creative possibilities with music, movement and language.

Songs for the very youngest

Making music with babies, singing with toddlers….is immersion in the elemental and pure joy!

We are moved by rocking and dancing, learn to feel, name and understand our bodies in a playful way, listen to our voices and experience our moods.

With a variety of songs, texts, pieces of music and play ideas, Michaela Kyllönen opens up stimulating perspectives for work in child & parent groups.

Speaker:

Michaela Kyllönen teaches parent-child groups and creative children’s dance at the music school in Bregenz. Since 1999 she has worked as a breastfeeding consultant with pregnant women and mothers with babies and toddlers. Training and further education in Biodanza with children, Power of Life Dance, Sinchi Move and ORFF level courses I to III. Lecturer at Schloss Hofen for playgroup leaders.

Music for playing, dancing & dreaming in child & parent groups

In music baby groups, babies are sung to and played with children’s songs and verses. The adult caregivers sing and make music together, the children enjoy listening and feeling and it is fascinating to see how naturally the children become more and more active during the course and start to join in.

As toddlers become more independent, their needs change and so do the content and approach of the teacher in the music lessons. From baby music groups to children’s music groups, which we teachers design and lead.

In this weekend workshop, we will explore and experience how we as elementary music teachers can strike a good balance here, find a good balance between addressing both children and adults and how we can guide and conjure up lively music-making moments in every child and parent group.

Songs written by Agnes Haider and music games for improvising and grooving await you. Immerse yourself in singing, making music and also reflecting and together we will create a transfer into our everyday life with child & parent groups.

Speaker:

Agnes Haider teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the JAM MUSIC LAB VIENNA. Her work focuses on elementary music-making for different target groups (child & parent groups from 0 – 3 years, kindergartens, piano in the center with 6-8 year old children, adults, people over 65) and improvisation on the piano and in groups.

Performances as a pianist and performer and as a double bass player. She plays in the duo an.tasten and also in the formation an.tasten&friends with people with disabilities. In 2004 she founded KinderMusikGruppe, a place where children from 0 – 6 years experience music with their parents. She also works in adult education, both as a music teacher and as an organizational consultant with a focus on team development and resilience.
