High School | Pre-College
The music grammar school is intended to offer musically talented young pupils the opportunity to attend a general secondary school with a school-leaving examination parallel to the pre-college at Stella Vorarlberg. Stella Vorarlberg currently offers this type of school in cooperation with two institutes. The prerequisites for admission are meeting the required academic performance and passing the instrumental entrance examination to the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg.
Stella Vorarlberg also offers talent promotion for particularly talented music students from Vorarlberg’s music schools in cooperation with the Musikschulwerk. In addition to extra lessons, young musicians are given an insight into extended musical training in regular workshops.
Music high school

Feldkirch
Pupils who attend the Feldkirch Music High School complete their school education at the Feldkirch Federal Secondary School in addition to the preparatory course at Stella Vorarlberg. Registration at both institutes is required. The music grammar school lasts 5 years. www.gys.at
Schiers
Pupils who attend the EMS Music High School in Schiers (CH) are also students of the Pre-College at Stella Vorarlberg. www.ems-schiers.ch
Pre-College
The Pre-College is a preparatory course. That is why the “Pre” comes before the “College”. The primary aim is to promote the artistic development and personal musical identity of talented young people.
The Pre-College is offered for the following instruments: Piano, harpsichord, organ, accordion, violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, harp, guitar, flute, recorder, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, solo singing and composition.
An admission examination is required for admission. This serves to determine musical talent, instrumental knowledge and physical aptitude.
Talenteförderung
The Stella Vorarlberg Private University of Music is one of the leading centers for the promotion of musical talent in the Lake Constance region. The study area of “Taletenteförderung” includes a cooperation with the music high schools in Feldkirch and Schiers, as well as a cooperation with the Vorarlberg Music School Association for “Taletenteförderung”.
