Biography

Yukie Togashi was born in 1979 in Hiroshima, Japan. She completed her bachelor’s degree with a teaching diploma at the Musashino University of Music in Tokyo with Etsuko Okazaki, Helmut Brauss, and Jenő Jandó and her diploma studies at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory, now Stella Vorarlberg with Ferenc Bognár. She also completed her master’s degree in fortepiano at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Edoardo Torbianelli and Kristian Bezuidenhout. She graduated with honours in both cases.

She has worked as a chamber music partner with Jasmine Choi, Paul Edmund-Davies, Peter-Lukas Graf, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Edward H. Tarr, Markus Wolf, Gérard Caussé, Thomas Riebl, Tamás Varga, and various chamber music ensembles. This includes concert performances and CD recordings on the fortepiano and several world premieres and radio broadcasts in the contemporary music scene.

Participation in several projects, masterclasses and music festivals: Bodenseefestival, Bregenzer Festspiele, Feldkirchfestival, Salon des Pianos in the St.-Alban-Vorstadt Basel, Chopinfestival (CH), Musikkurswochen Arosa and Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival (JP).

She has been a teacher at Stella Vorarlberg since 2009.
