Biography

Takeo Sato, a regular guest soloist and lecturer at international music festivals and concert series, has won numerous national and international competitions as well as the special prize of the Saarland Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science. He studied at the conservatories in Saarbrücken and Augsburg, and at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag with professor Ansgar Krause, professor Franz Halász, and professor Zoran Dukic.
His activities include participation in TV and radio productions for German broadcasters SR and BR, chamber music projects, orchestral and opera projects as well as publications of his own arrangements (Chanterelle publishing house). He was supported by the ‘Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now’ organisation, of which he later became a board member, and is a brand ambassador for Hannabach Strings, Hercules Stands, and Hughes & Kettner.
Takeo Sato is professor of guitar at Stella Vorarlberg and guitar lecturer at the Leopold Mozart Centre for Music at the University of Augsburg. He is the founder and organiser of the Augsburg International Guitar Festival.
