Biography

Francesco Negrini is a versatile musician whose activities include orchestral musician, chamber musician, soloist, conductor, and lecturer. He has been principal clarinet of the Argovia Philharmonic (CH) since 2012 and has worked in the same capacity with some of the most renowned European orchestras under the direction of K. Nagano, C. Abbado, J. E. Gardiner, R. Muti, Y. Temirkanov, D. Gatti, M. Venzago, and E. Inbal, among others. He is a member of various chamber music ensembles and has participated in numerous recordings (Deutsche Grammophon, France Musique, SWR, Amadeus, ORF, RAI, SRF 2). After graduating from the ‘Rossini’ Conservatory in Italy in 1999 with the highest marks, he continued his studies with Th. Friedli, A. Carbonare, and F. Benda. He graduated with honours from the Basel Music Academy with the latter’s soloist diploma. Francesco Negrini has been awarded around 20 national and international prizes and honours at instrumental competitions and by institutions. Looking back on many years of experience as a teacher in Italy and Switzerland, Francesco Negrini has been a professor at Stella Vorarlberg since 2014.
